David Nessim Lawrence

David Nessim Lawrence (* 1960 ) is an American composer , record producer and actor .

Origin and work

Lawrence was born the son of American pop singer Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gormé . He is the cousin of Neil Sedaka , Dara Sedaka, Marc Sedaka and Helene Sedaka. In 1986, his brother Michael Lawrence died at the age of 23.

David Nessim Lawrence is best known as the composer for the soundtracks for the films American Pie (1999), American Pie 2 (2001) and High School Musical (2006). He also wrote the music for the television series Jericho - The Attack , Harper's Island and Common Law as well as for the television films Reindeer Buddy Saves Christmas ( Snow ), StarStruck - The Star Who Loved Me , My Sister Charlie ON THE ROAD - The Film and Teen Beach Movie and Teen Beach 2 . His songs have been used in various television series such as Hotel Zack & Cody . He made an appearance as an actor in Isn't she great? from 2000. Lawrence wrote a total of thirteen soundtracks for films, over fifty titles for series and feature films, and worked nine times in the music department as a conductor or record producer.

Awards

To date, Lawrence has received two ASCAP Awards given by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers. 2002 in the “Top Box Office Films” category for American Pie 2 and 2009 for High School Musical: Senior Year in the same category.
