Thomas Burstyn
Thomas Burstyn (* 1954 in Montreal , Canada ) is a Canadian cameraman .
Life
Thomas Burstyn began his training with the National Film Board of Canada at the age of 15 under the guidance of Denis Gillson. With the New Zealand adventure film The Lost Tribe , released in 1983, Burstyn made his debut as a cameraman for a feature film. Since then he has mainly made television films and only a few independent and feature films, often in the USA, Canada and New Zealand, where he lives with his wife. He has been nominated three times for the Canadian Genie Award for Best Cinematographer, receiving an award for his work on Beloved Monster in 1996. He was also nominated for a Primetime Emmy Award in 2005.
