The daughter of Avalon (Original title: Avalon High ) is an American Disney Channel Original Movie from 2010 , which is based on the book of the same name by Meg Cabot .

action

Allie Pennington moves to Avalon with her parents, who are professors of medieval literature . There she wants to apply for the athletics team at Avalon High. While jogging, she meets Will Wagner, who - Allie later learns - the school quarterback and one of Avalon's most popular people, who is also with Jen. On the way to the classroom, she sees Miles being bullied by Marco, Will's stepbrother.

During class, she sits next to Miles, who suddenly has a severe headache and advises Allie to tie her shoes even though they are tied. The class covers the topic of King Arthur and the teacher, Mr. Moore, divides the class into teams to work on different topics. Allie and her partner Miles get the "Order of the Bear" theme. After school, Allie tries to apply for the track and field team and sees Will and his team members training. But suddenly she sees Will and the others as knights. When Allie tries to run, she realizes that her shoelaces are open.

In the evening Miles comes to Allie's home to work on the paper with her. During the investigation, Miles has a bad headache again and fetches ice to give to Allie, who then hits her foot. Allie and Miles go to Allie's parents to ask them about the "Order of the Bear". They tell the two that this is a group of people who believe that King Arthur will be born again. When Allie asks when this time should be, Allie's mother says that Arthur will return when the world is taken over by darkness. But then Arthur's evil stepbrother Mordred will also return. At night Allie cannot sleep and she looks again at the book of the order, which she got from her parents. When leafing through, she sees a crown and on the other side a drawing of Camelot Castle , which looks exactly like Avalon High.

The next day, on the way to the cafeteria, she sees Will's friend Jen flirting with his best friend Lance. But the two break up when they are noticed by Allie. After school, Allie goes jogging in the woods and meets Will. The two talk and Will tells her that everyone just wants to talk to him about football , even though he no longer wants to. He says that football used to be important to him, but he feels too pressured because he has to win the next game or he would not get a sports scholarship. Allie tries to comfort him, reminding him of what victory should feel like. She also invites him to her home for a burger meal. At home, Will invites Allie to a party the next day.

Allie and Miles go to Will's party and witness an argument between Will and Marco. Marco has contaminated all the food with vermin and feels sorry for his mother because she married Will's father. When Allie is looking for the bathroom, she sees a crown that looks exactly like the one from the Book of the Order. She also sees Jen and Lance flirting again and runs away. Jen has also seen Allie and runs after her. Jen fetches Allie and pulls her into an abandoned room. Jen asks Allie Will not to tell, as Allie is already under stress from the football game. Allie runs away without an answer and meets Miles, who knows about Jen and Lance because he had another vision before.

Little by little, Allie realizes that Will is King Arthur and Marco Mordred. She learns from her parents that the reincarnation will be on the day of the game. That's why Allie doesn't let her out of her sight anymore. On the night of the game, Will sees Jen and Lance flirting and angrily drives away. Allie runs after him. She finds him in the forest and confesses to him that he is King Arthur. Will gets this wrong, believing that Allie is encouraging him to return to the game and help his team. He goes to the game, but forgets his helmet in the locker room and goes back. When Allie and Miles walk into the locker room, Will is gone. Miles sees that Will is in the theater. The two go there and find Marco lying on the floor. And Will find them too. Allie explains everything again to Will and tells him that Marco is Mordred. Will denies this and says that Marco wanted to protect him. Suddenly Mr. Moore appears, who turns out to be Mordred. He goes after Will and Marco. Meanwhile, Allie receives a toy sword, which turns into a real sword. Everyone is surprised that Allie König is Arthur's successor, as only he can turn a toy sword into a real sword. Everyone is transported to a beach where a battle ensues between King Arthur (Allie) and Mordred (Mr. Moore). After the battle they are transported back and Mr. Moore is arrested by the police. Will and the others go back to the game and win this one. After the win, Will runs to Allie and kisses her. He also forgives Jen and Lance and hopes they will be happy. In the final scene, Allie, Will, Miles, Marco, Lance and Jen are seated at the round table .
