The film begins with the scene of the murder of Ruben Borchardt. Previous events are later shown in flashbacks . Ruben Borchardt, who lives in Wisconsin, is married to teacher Diane Kay Borchardt. He meets a woman with whom he has an affair. After a while, he demands a divorce. Diane Kay instigates one of her students to murder Ruben. She is hoping for her husband's life insurance. The student seduced by her carries out the deed together with two colleagues. Diane Kay and the students involved are later arrested.
