Sweetener debuted at # 1 on the Billboard album charts and hit a billion streams on Spotify in a month , making her the youngest artist to hit the road. Despite Sweetener's experimental sound, it is still the fastest-selling album in their discography .

In terms of content, the song Ghostin stands out, which is about the difficult relationship with Pete Davidson after Mac Miller's death. Grande sings in the chorus "I know that it breaks your heart when I cry because of him again". The album debuted at number 1 on the Billboard album charts. Since the Beatles in 1964, Grande became the first female singer to make the top three spots on the Billboard Hot 100.
