The Dangerous Woman Tour is the third concert tour by the American pop singer Ariana Grande .

The starting date was February 3, 2017 in Phoenix (Arizona) , after which the tour will lead to North America and Canada as well as England, Europe, Latin America, Asia and Oceania. Grande is promoting her third studio album, Dangerous Woman .

Announcement and miscellaneous

The dates for the American shows (first part of the tour) were announced in September via Instagram. Advance sales also began on September 20, and started rather slowly in the US, as US blogger Perez Hilton showed in an article. Even so, a second show was added in New York City .

The European tour part was announced on October 20, 2016 and will also include a show in Frankfurt am Main . Sales went better - the concert in Frankfurt was sold out within a few minutes. Bonus dates have been announced in Amsterdam , London and Łódź . Further concerts in South America (June 29th - Rio De Janeiro / July 1st - Sao Paulo / July 3rd - Santiago / July 12th and 13th - Mexico City / July 18th and 19th - Monterrey), Asia (December 12th - July 13th - Mexico City), and August 13 - Tokyo / September 16 - Singapore / September 19 Taipei), New Zealand (September 2 - Auckland) and Australia (September 4 and 5 - Melbourne / September 8 and 9 - Darling Harbor / September 12th - Brisbane) have also been added.

The British pop band Little Mix and singer Victoria Monet act as the opening act in the USA .

Terrorist attack in Manchester on May 22nd 2017

At the concert on May 22, 2017 in the Manchester Arena in Manchester , a suicide bomber blew himself up in the foyer of the arena shortly after the end of the concert with an explosive vest . A total of 23 people were killed and 512 others were injured. On May 24th, Grande and her management announced that the tour would be suspended until June 5th inclusive.

Reviews

The reviews for the North American part were positive overall. Ian Caramanzana from Las Vegas Weekly was positive about her concert at the MGM Grand Arena, but praised the ballads rather than the faster parts of the show: “With her soulful voice and wide octave range, Ariana Grande remains the star of the show - best she is when she just stands there with her band and the microphone - and sings ballads ”. Ed Masley, who wrote for The Arizona Republic , saw it similarly . He emphasized that she had never sang so passionately and vigorously - this was particularly evident in the ballads. He also called her appearance in terms of outfit choice and general attitude compared to the last tour as "matured".
