Las Vegas Weekly is an independent, alternative, weekly newspaper of Henderson in the US state of Nevada .
It is published by the Greenspun Media Group and deals with the arts, entertainment, culture and news from the greater Las Vegas area .
The newspaper was founded in 1992 by James Reza as an independent, monthly publication, which dealt with the culture of Generation X under the name "Scope" .
In 1998 Reza sold "Scope" to the Greenspun Corporation , which she realigned in terms of content and renamed it "Las Vegas Weekly".
In December 2009, the "Las Vegas Weekly" had a circulation of 62,682.
