Santa Tell Me is a Christmas song by the American singer Ariana Grande . The single was released on November 24, 2014. The song was written by Ariana Grande, Savan Kotecha and Ilya Salmanzadeh and produced by Ilya Salmanzadeh.

Grande released her first Christmas EP , Christmas Kisses , on December 17, 2013. The album contains the tracks Love Is Everything and Snow in California, as well as covers of Santa Baby and Last Christmas .
Santa Tell Me was first mentioned by Ariana Grande in a livestream on October 28, 2014 . There she said that she did not want to record a Christmas carol at first, but then changed her mind. She also announced a music video for the title and announced that it is her favorite of all the Christmas carols she has sung so far. On November 13, 2014, Grande officially announced the single and its title on Twitter .
Promotion and publication
Using the hashtag # 10DaysTilSantaTellMe, Grande started a ten-day countdown on Twitter for the title to be released. The first live performance took place on November 18, 2014 as part of the A Very Grammy Christmas concert at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles.
On the same day presented Republic Records , the cover of the single, which has a pink background and in gold cursive written text Santa Tell Me shows in the middle. On November 21, 2014, the label published a 15-second excerpt from the song on Instagram , in which part of the chorus can be heard.
On November 23, 2014, Grande tweeted a link to the iTunes Store using the hashtag #SantaTellMeTonight . The title could be pre-ordered there. The single was released on November 24, 2014 at midnight on the iTunes Store. On the same day, the piece was uploaded to Grande's official YouTube channel, Ariana GrandeVevo.
The music video was filmed on November 20, 2014. Directed by Chris Marrs Piliero , who had already taken on this role while filming the music video for Grande's single Break Free .

The text is about Ariana Grande wanting to know from Santa Claus whether her new partner is really interested in her and will not leave her like other partners in her past. She describes her worries about falling in love again and that she wants to avoid every mistletoe as long as she is not sure whether it is real love on his part.
