Kristen Mary Jenner (born Kristen Mary Houghton , formerly Kris Kardashian ; born November 5, 1955 in San Diego , California ) is an American television personality who became known for her starring role in the reality television series Keeping Up with the Kardashians .

Life

Jenner was born in San Diego, California, to Mary Jo Shannon (a native of Campbell) and Robert Houghtons, born in 1934. Her parents divorced when Kris was seven years old, after which she and her younger sister (Karen, * 1959) stayed with their mother. She later married the businessman Harry Shannon, whose name she took on. Jenner attended Clairemont High School in San Diego , where she graduated from high school in 1973. In 1976 she worked as a stewardess for a year.

Kris Jenner was married twice, first from 1978 to 1991 to Robert Kardashian , best known as the lawyer for OJ Simpson . With him she has four children, Kourtney , Kim , Khloé and Robert Jr.

In 1991 she married the 1976 Olympic decathlon champion, Bruce Jenner . With him she had two more children, Kendall and Kylie Jenner . The marriage lasted until 2015, when Bruce publicly admitted to being transsexual and became Caitlyn Jenner .

Kris Jenner is the manager of her daughter Kim, like most of their other children, and runs Los Angeles-based Jenner Communications. Like her late husband Robert, she has a character in the American Crime Story television series dedicated to her. The role there is played by Selma Blair .
