Greyson Michael Chance (born August 16, 1997 in Wichita Falls , Texas ) is an American singer who became famous for his cover version of the Lady Gaga hit Paparazzi in April 2010 on the video platform YouTube . On August 2, 2011, Chance released his first album, Hold On 'til the Night .

Life

Greyson Chance is Lisa and Scott's youngest child and has two older siblings, Alexa and Tanner. Greyson Chance and his sister Alexa have been taking piano lessons from a young age and singing duets together. His brother Tanner is also musical and has taught himself to play the guitar and piano. The family lives in Edmond, Oklahoma , where Chance attended sixth grade at Cheyenne Middle School in 2010. He has been singing in various performances and school programs since kindergarten. In 2010, Chance took part in a talent show at his school and sang the song 100 Years . His musical role models are Lady Gaga and the American rock band Augustana , as he states on his YouTube channel. Hence the choice of Lady Gaga's song Paparazzi . When Chance saw Lady Gaga perform at the 2008 MTV Video Music Awards, he decided to pursue a career in the music industry. Chance sees himself as a pianist and songwriter, but not a professional singer as he has never had any singing lessons.

In July 2017, Chance came out as gay .

In April 2010 he sang Lady Gaga's hit song Paparazzi at a school festival in his hometown and showed musical talent.
