It was produced by Dan Schneider , under whom the associated series were created. Directed by Steve Hoefer. iParty with Victorious premiered in Los Angeles on June 4, 2011 . In the United States, the crossover first aired on June 11, 2011 on Nickelodeon television. The crossover was broadcast in Germany on October 1, 2011.

action

Carly has been with a boy named Steven for three months. Steven's parents are divorced , which is why he lives with his mother in Seattle and with his father in Los Angeles . Steven eventually flies to Los Angeles, where he goes out with Tori. Then Robbie takes a picture of the two and uploads it to TheSlap.com , which Carly sees by chance. While Sam believes Steven is a cheat, Carly believes in his innocence. Spencer goes to Los Angeles with Carly, Sam, Freddie, and Gibby to a party at Kenan Thompson's new house , which is likely to include Steven. Before they go to the party, however, they get a new look from an ex-girlfriend of Spencer so that they are not recognized by the others.

At Hollywood Arts, André tells his friends that Kenan Thompson is having a little party in his new house, which Andrés uncle has sold to Kenan. However, through a mass tweet from Rex, everyone finds out about the party and the whole thing gets out of hand. There are now 200 people at the party when Carly, Sam, Freddie, Gibby and Spencer arrive. In fact, Steven is at the party and Carly sees him kissing Tori. Carly tells Sam she was right about Steven, and the three of them take off their disguise when they run into Tori. After telling Tori that Steven is a cheat, they decide to take revenge on him. Through a text message , they lure Steven into a closet in Kenan's house. He thinks Tori is waiting for him there, but an iCarly webcast is being filmed there in which Carly and Tori portray Steven as cheaters and liars in front of a million viewers.

At the same time during the party, André and Kenan try to catch someone in a panda bear costume and Spencer relaxes in Kenan Thompson's hot tub . When Jade and Beck enter the whirlpool, Mr. Sikowitz emerges from the water to scare Beck, but he does not succeed. Finally, two children who were supposed to be babysitting Trina are also sitting in the whirlpool. Sinjin plays a video game that he controls with a surfboard as a controller. However, after the video game crashes, he is thrown from the surfboard out the window into the hot tub. Cat cannot speak because her throat is infected, so she uses an electronic talking headband to communicate.

Sam challenges Rex to a rap battle, which she wins. Then the cast of iCarly and Victorious sings the karaoke song Leave It All to Shine .

production

On August 29, 2010, Dan Schneider, the author of the series iCarly and Victorious , confirmed the completion of the script for the crossover between the two series via Facebook and Twitter. The episode went into production the very next day. Production took about three weeks. For the crossover, a separate theme song was produced under the name Leave It All to Shine , from the theme songs Leave It All to Me (iCarly) and Make It Shine (Victorious).

occupation

Victoria Justice, Leon Thomas III, Daniella Monet and Lane Napper were already performing at iCarly before the crossover . Justice as "Shelby Marx" in the iCarly film iCarly: Four fists for iCarly , Thomas III as "Harper" in the episode iCarly TV , Monet played the role of "Emma", a friend of "Nora", in the episode iPsycho and Napper made an appearance as Sam's dance instructor on the Miss Teen Seattle episode . Jerry Trainor also had an appearance on Victorious as a spectator in the episode Abserved . Aside from Sam's remark that Tori Vega looks very similar to “Shelby Marx”, there was no further character confusion.

Cat's voice

Cat hardly speaks during the crossover. She communicates through an electronic, talking headband that Lane provided for her because she has an inflammation of her vocal cords. At first she squeaks a bit after Sikowitz tells her that she could ruin her vocal cords. At the end she says, “Yay, I love karaoke,” and Tori reminds her that her doctor told her not to speak. To this Cat replies singing: "He didn't say that I can't sing", after all everyone sings the song Leave It All to Shine .

Intro

The intro only contains scenes from the crossover. In addition, only the instrumental version of Leave It All to Shine is played. Justice is the only one of the cast of Victorious mentioned by name in the intro.

criticism

The film received mostly good reviews. The Republic's Verne Gay gave a positive review, suggesting that iParty with Victorious could be one of the biggest TV events of summer 2011. He also mentioned that the guy in the panda suit chasing Kenan Thompsons through his house was very weird. Assignment X's Carl Cortez praised the film, but also gave it a slightly more critical rating. He complained that the "mechanism" to check that Carly's boyfriend was really cheating on her was a bit of a stretch. Overall, however, he finds the film pleasant and gives it a “B-” rating.

Extended version

On July 2nd, 2011 Dan Schneider announced that an extended version of the crossover will also be produced. The running time of the extended version is over two hours and therefore contains 30 minutes of additional film material. The Extended Version premiered in the United States on August 27, 2011 on Nickelodeon television . The repeat of the Extended Version on Sunday was seen by 3.67 million viewers.

DVDs

In the United States, the crossover was released on August 30, 2011 on the DVD iCarly - The Complete 3rd Season , along with the remaining episodes of the fourth season of iCarly . The publication in Germany took place on May 10, 2012.

music

At the end of the crossover, the mash-up song, Leave It All to Shine , was sung. The song landed at number 24 on the Billboard Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles Chart. On June 5, 2011, the single release of the song Leave It All to Shine was released by Nickelodeon and Columbia Records . During the party in Kenan's house, Give It Up by Ariana Grande and Elizabeth Gillies and Number One (My World) by Ginger Fox from iCarly were played in the background . In addition, you could hear entered as Carly, Freddie, Sam, Spencer and Gibbie Kenan House The Joke is on You by Niki Watkins , a song that could be heard several times in iCarly.

  • Although the film is a crossover between the iCarly and Victorious series , the crossover is only counted as a three-part iCarly film in which the cast of Victorious only has one guest appearance.
