Elizabeth Egan Gillies (born July 26, 1993 in Haworth , New Jersey ) is an American actress , singer and dancer .

Life

Gillies attended Haworth Public School in her hometown of Haworth , New Jersey . Then she went to the Northern Valley Regional High School at Demarest in Demarest . She has a brother who is three years her junior.

Gillies is allergic to numerous foods as well as gluten and is therefore a vegan .

Career

Gillies was already in front of the camera for commercials as a child. Since 1995 she has made commercials for chewing gum and cell phones. She first appeared in a Nickelodeon series in the 1990s, and in 1995 she got the role of 4-year-old Melissa in the series 6 to 8 Frozen Zone . In 2007, Gillies got roles in The Black Donnellys and Locker 514 , which gave her career a boost. In 2008, Gillies received a role in the film Harold . In the summer of 2008 she was cast for the musical 13 , in which she sang the two songs Opportunity and It Can't Be True . It was there that she met her colleague Ariana Grande , who later also played a leading role in Victorious . The musical was a huge success until its end on January 4, 2009. In 2009, Gillies won the National Youth Theater Award for her performance in Musical 13 for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Musical. After the end of the musical, she played the role of Shelby Wexler in the film The Glamor Clique - Cinderella's Revenge .

From 2010 to 2013, Gillies was seen on the American television program Victorious . In the series developed by Dan Schneider , she played the role of Jadelyn "Jade" West . Like all other leading actors in Victorious , she played in the crossover between Victorious and iCarly, also produced by Dan Schneider . In the Victorious episode The Ugly Duckling , Gillies sang the song Give It Up with Ariana Grande . The song was released on August 2, 2011, along with other songs from the TV series, on the Victorious soundtrack . In 2011, Gillies, along with the cast of Victorious, received a nomination for the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards for Best Television Series . She had short appearances at the side of Victoria Justice in the music videos Freak the Freak Out , Beggin 'on Your Knees , All I Want Is Everything and Make it in America , which were produced for the television series.

In 2011, Gillies took part in a special edition of the American quiz show BrainSurge along with other actors . In the same year she also starred as Heather on the television series Big Time Rush . Since 2011 she has spoken to Daphne in the Nickelodeon animated television series Winx Club . In 2012 she recorded the song We Are Believix for this series , for which a music video with Gillies was shot.

Gillies privately records various cover versions of well-known songs such as Wild Horses by The Rolling Stones , Jealous Guy by John Lennon or Yoü and I by Lady Gaga and then uploads them to YouTube . In 2012 she covered the Keane song Somewhere Only We Know with Max Schneider .

Gillies was able to secure a leading role in The CW television series The Denver Clan , a remake of the television series of the same name from the 1980s. Since October 2017 she has played the role of Fallon Carrington . Since April 2019 she has also played the role of Alexis Carrington .
