content
50-year-old Johnny Rock was once the lead singer of The Heathens , an up-and-coming rock band from the late 80s and early 90s that split after only one album was released, largely due to their excessive lifestyle. 25 years later, rock is struggling to survive in the music industry. Surprisingly, he realizes that he has a 21-year-old daughter named Gigi with one of his former backing singers. Gigi makes him a proposal: If her father reforms The Heathens , she will replace him as lead singer, the band will change their name to The Assassins and in return he will stay on board as lead songwriter for the band. Johnny experiences the challenges of an aging rock star in a music landscape shaped by hip-hop and pop.
