Yoü and I (Eng. You and I ) is a song by the American singer Lady Gaga . He was on 23 May 2011 from her second studio album Born This Way as a download published. The song was produced by Lady Gaga and Robert John "Mutt" Lange .
Yoü and I was released as the fourth single from the album Born This Way . On August 16, 2011, the accompanying music video was released.
Music genre
In contrast to other Lady Gaga songs, Yoü and I is more like a rock ballad , with a slow tempo of sixty beats per minute . Queen member Brian May can be heard as guitarist. The song also refers briefly to May's Queen composition We Will Rock You . Lady Gaga wanted to work with May because she counts Queen - especially the singer Freddie Mercury - among her influences.

Yoü and I was written by Lady Gaga and produced by Gaga with Robert John "Mutt" Lange. It was one of the first preview songs from the Born This Way album . Lady Gaga said she wrote the song in New York while she was playing on her old piano . Gaga first sang Yoü and I on Elton John's "White and Tiara Ball" in June 2010. She said the song was a bit like a "rock and roll song" and that it probably wasn't a single from the album Born This Way , but very dear to her heart. At a concert in Montreal , she sang the song during her Monster Ball tour, to which her fans on the Internet responded positively. At MSNBC , Gaga said she wrote the song for the most important person she has ever met. Although she didn't reveal who this person is, People magazine revealed that it is Lüc Carl, Lady Gaga's ex-boyfriend. She told Neil Strauss of Rolling Stone on, as it was inspired by the relationship.
"I wouldn't have been as successful without him [Lüc Carl] ... I've never really loved anyone like I loved him. Or like I love him. That relationship really shaped me. It made me into a fighter. "

Yoü and I reached positions ten and six in Canada and the United States, respectively. The song was sold over 124,000 downloads in the United States.
