Emergence

Chromatica is Lady Gaga's sixth studio album

Chromatica is Lady Gaga's sixth studio album. The singer describes the sound of the album as follows: "I want people to dance and be happy. I want to bring out music that a large part of the world will hear and I want them to become a part of their everyday life and make them happy every day power."

Among the titles are common songs with Elton John ( Sine From Above ), Ariana Grande ( Rain on Me ) and the South Korean girl group Blackpink ( Sour Candy ).

A large part of the recording was made in the studio of her Hollywood home, which Lady Gaga acquired in 2016 and where music legend Frank Zappa had his old studio. In an interview with Paper in March 2020, Lady Gaga said about the recording process for Chromatica that the American musician, record producer and songwriter BloodPop was the "center" and the "core" of the album's production and was involved in all the tracks. The recording was made with the participation of a variety of producers and musicians such as Burns , Axwell , Tchami , Benjamin Rice and Rami Yacoub . Skrillex , Madeon , White Sea , Jacob Kasher , Ryan Tedder , Justin Tranter , Tom Norris , Ely Rise , Johannes Klahr , LIOHN and Madison Love were also involved as producers and authors on the album .

Album cover

The album cover presented on April 5, 2020 shows Lady Gaga with a pink "cotton candy" hairstyle, a shiny metallic body with protruding spikes and rivets and a pair of platform boots attached to a large metal grid that is illuminated by "pink neon light".

Single releases

Stupid Love was released as the lead single on the album on February 28, 2020. Rain on Me with Ariana Grande was released as a second single on May 22, 2020. The latter date coincided with the third anniversary of the Islamist suicide bombing in Manchester . On May 22, 2017, shortly after the end of a concert on Ariana Grande's Dangerous Woman Tour in the Manchester Arena, a suicide bomber blew himself up in the foyer of the arena, killing 22 people and injuring 512 people. With Sour Candy , Lady Gaga released the third single on May 28, 2020 shortly before the album start in cooperation with Blackpink .
