Chillin (also: Chillin ') is a song by the American rapper Wale and Lady Gaga . It is the first song from his debut album Attention: Deficit .
background
Wale asked Lady Gaga in January 2009 if she would like to record a song with him, as he thought she could better express the celebration feeling of the single. He said:
“If music was a high school, I feel like I'll be the dude on the football team, and it would be like, 'OK, Gaga's having a party!' And you know all the bad girls are going to be out there. "
After Wale learned that some were surprised with this collaboration, he said, "If Jay-Z can work with Coldplay, I will be able to work with Lady Gaga." Mark Ronson sent the song to Lady Gaga. She said her part of the song will be lyrics like "Lookin 'at, lookin' at, lookin 'at me / Eyes all stickin' like honey on bees". The text captures the life and image of Wales' homeland ( Maryland and District of Columbia ). It's heavily influenced by the go-go and rap style of the 1990s.
Music video
The music video was directed by Chris Robinson. It was posted on Interscope's YouTube channel on June 2, 2009 . Young Chris, Tre, Pusha T , Anwan Glover and Bun B contributed and can be seen in the video. Wale and Gaga can be seen at Cardozo Senior High School in the District of Columbia and other locations nearby. It also includes a scene at the famous Bodega hidden clothing store in Boston where Wale is trying on different clothes. There are also some posters with Barack Obama . The video has been added to BET 's rotation.

Charts
Chillin was ranked 99th on the Billboard Hot 100 for a week. It was sold there a total of 354,000 times. It also reached 29th place in Australia , 73rd place in Canada , 19th place in Ireland and 6th place in Chile . In many countries, however, no chart positions were achieved despite the publication.
