Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards 2001

The Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards 2001 (KCA) were held on April 21, 2001 in the Barker Hangar on the grounds of Santa Monica Municipal Airport in Santa Monica . It was the 14th US award of blimps . These are orange, zeppelin-shaped trophies with the logo of the broadcaster Nickelodeon , which were awarded in 19 categories. In addition, Tom Cruise received the silver-colored Wannabe Award and Cameron Diaz the Burp Award for the best burp. The ceremony was hosted by actress Rosie O'Donnell , who took on this role for the fifth time in a row, after she had assisted Whitney Houston in one-player in 1996 .
Live performances
Destiny's Child sang their song Survivor . Aaron Carter presented his title That's How I Beat Shaq . Lil 'Bow Wow sang Bounce with Me and the Backstreet Boys performed More Than That .
Slime showers
Every year, for amusement, some celebrities are given a green slime shower. Nickelodeon sees this as the highest honor. This special honor went to actors Melissa Joan Hart and Tom Cruise, as well as members of * NSYNC and presenter Rosie O'Donnell .
Categories
In 19 categories it was possible to vote online in advance. In addition, the Burp Award for the best burp was given for the first time . Cameron Diaz was determined to be the winner during the broadcast. The silver Wannabe Award , which was presented to Tom Cruise , was not up for voting . This award was given from 2001 to 2008 to the idol that children would like to be themselves. It replaced the golden Hall of Fame Award , which was given from 1991 to 2000.
