Amanda Laura Bynes (born April 3, 1986 in Thousand Oaks , California ) is an American actress and former show host for the television station Nickelodeon .

Life

Career

Her career began as a star on the Show All That , and later she starred on The Amanda Show . Some of her films are noteworthy, for example Lies Have Short Legs , in which she took on a bigger role for the first time, and What Girls Want , in which she played the lead role. Her voice actress was mostly Marie-Luise Schramm .

Bynes played from 2002 to 2006 in the sitcom What I Like About alongside Jennie Garth , mainly for her role in Beverly Hills, 90210 is known. Then Amanda Bynes played the lead role in the film She's the Man! . A year later, she was seen alongside John Travolta and Michelle Pfeiffer in the musical adaptation of Hairspray and in the teen film Sydney White - Campus Queen .

In the "List of the highest salaries of stars under 21" published by the US business magazine Forbes in early 2007, Bynes landed in 5th place with a salary of 2.5 million US dollars per year.

In February 2010, Bynes posed as the cover girl for the US edition of the men's magazine Maxim . She also starred alongside Emma Stone in Easy to Have . In 2011, Bynes was scheduled to get a cameo in the movie Hall Pass , but she turned it down.

At the 2011 MTV Movie Awards , Amanda Bynes stated that she was taking a break from acting. However, Bynes announced that she has retired as an actress and broken off contact with her management to become a fashion designer in New York City .

Life

Byne's father is a dentist and occasionally appears as a stand-up comedian . In addition to her acting, Bynes is also active in fashion design and draws. Among other things, she painted a portrait of David Letterman and gave it to him. She was trained as an actress by Arsenio Hall and a comedian by Richard Pryor .

On April 6, 2012, Amanda Bynes was arrested for drinking under the influence of driving. In September 2012, Bynes was revoked for having caused three accidents. She also committed hit and run. Because of this, a charge was brought. In December 2012, however, that charge was dropped. On May 23, 2013, she was arrested for drug use, the day before she had been expelled from a gym for cannabis use . On July 22, 2013, after setting fire to a neighbor's driveway with the help of a petrol can, Bynes was admitted to a mental hospital. She left again on December 4, 2013. At the end of November 2018, it was said that the days of her drug experiments were long over. “I'm not sad about it or miss it because I am really ashamed of the way these substances made me act. When I got away from that, I was back to normal and immediately realized what I had done - it was like an alien had invaded my body. It's such a strange feeling. ”Bynes has been clean since 2014. In December 2018 she graduated from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles.
