Arsenio Hall (born February 12, 1956 in Cleveland , Ohio ) is an American actor , presenter and comedian .

Career

Hall is the son of a Baptist clergyman and attended Ohio University . He later attended Kent State University . He then went to Los Angeles to start a career as a stand-up comedian. During this time, he and Eddie Murphy became good friends. In 1988 he and Eddie Murphy played together in the film The Prince of Zamunda . In this film, Hall, like Murphy, played three other supporting roles in addition to his actual role. Published in 1989 under the pseudonym Hall Chunky A , a hip-hop album called Large and in Charge . Rappers like Ice-T and KRS-One had guest appearances on the album .

From 1989 to 1994 he had his own late night show called The Arsenio Hall Show . After his show ended, Hall had a few appearances on television, including his own sitcom called Arsenio, before starring with Sammo Hung in the series Martial Law from 1999 to 2000 . The Arsenio Hall Show has been in production again since 2013 .

Arsenio Hall has a son, born in 1999, and has never been married. Hall has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 6776 Hollywood Blvd.
