Anything Goes - A Week Without Rules (Original Title: Hall Pass ) is an American comedy film from 2011 . Directed by Peter and Bobby Farrelly and written by the Farrelly brothers, Pete Jones and Kevin Barnett .
action
The childhood friends Rick and Fred lead a supposedly happy life with their wives Maggie and Grace, but their love life has degenerated into a sporadic duty, and everyday family life nips any romance in the bud. It is a thorn in the side of the two women that their husbands are increasingly late-pubescent and look after pretty much every woman on the street, but not them. When Maggie happens to witness the two of them talking disparagingly about their marriages during a game of poker and indulging in bachelorette fantasies, Maggie and Grace, encouraged by a friend, decide to write a week-long “marriage letter” to the two of them.
While Rick and Fred soon notice that it is by no means an easy task for rusty bourgeoisie to even get to know attractive women, Maggie and Grace, who spend the week with the children on Cape Cod , become more attractive on the first day of a whole baseball team young men and charming trainers ensnared. Suddenly it is not only the men who have the feeling that they have to really live it out, but also their women. In the end, however, all four of them realize what they have in their partner and return remorsefully to family life.
Reviews
Jörg Gerle from the Film Service says: Compared to a film like Hangover , which sets the standard in terms of biting comedy, everything seems allowed - a week without rules like a leisurely comedy fun between two gentlemen with a yellow streak. The bottom line may not be the worst, but if you consider the former pointed sharpness of the directors, it is a bitter disappointment.
Dani Maurer from Outnow.ch says: The Farrellys show [...] with "Everything is allowed - A week without rules" average fare and keep us waiting for their next big hit. A few funny scenes with a shot of poop and nice actors don't make a good comedy. Unfortunately.
