Owen Cunningham Wilson (born November 18, 1968 in Dallas , Texas ) is an American actor and screenwriter .

Owen Wilson is the middle of three sons of advertising professional Robert Andrew Wilson and his wife, photographer Laura Cunningham. Wilson grew up in Dallas. He bears his mother's maiden name as a middle name , a tradition that is widespread in the United States and other English-speaking nations. The middle name is mostly abbreviated to the so-called middle initial (Owen C. Wilson). His younger brother Luke is also a well-known actor, while his older brother Andrew occasionally works as an actor. Wilson's ancestors were originally from Ireland .
