action

My wife, our children, and I are installing My wife, their in-laws, and I five years after the film ended . Gaylord (Greg) Focker and Pamela are now married and the parents of five-year-old twins Henry and Samantha, who are about to start school. The family would like to move into their own house soon, but the renovation is delayed. Greg is now Head of Surgery and gets to know the attractive pharmaceutical salesman Andi Garcia, who wants to recruit him for the campaign for her erectile drug . Pamela's father Jack explains to his son-in-law Greg over the phone that he wants to make him the future head of the family because his other son-in-law is divorcing his daughter and his health is no longer well. Greg's mother Roz now has her own TV show offering tips on how to have a satisfying sex life, and his father Bernie is in Spain to learn flamenco .

Greg's in-laws, Dina and Jack, and later his own parents, travel to the twins' birthday. Pam's ex-fiancé Kevin also turns up, who has just been left by his Russian girlfriend and accidentally had Pam's face tattooed on his back . Greg is soon annoyed by the advice of ex-CIA agent Jack, who has different ideas about raising children and who is sure that Greg and Pam have problems in bed. When Greg takes a part-time job at the drug company to raise money for a private school for the twins, Jack's old distrust of Greg returns. He spied Greg afterwards, the erection means trying out and needs to Greg by an adrenaline - injection to be freed from a permanent erection. When Jack searches for Andi Garcia on the Internet, he discovers a photo in which Andi kisses Greg on the cheek. He then tries to persuade Pam to leave Greg and get together with Kevin. At the twins' birthday party, which takes place due to the ongoing renovation of the property of Kevin, it finally comes to a head. After a brawl with Greg, Jack has a heart attack, but thanks to Greg's intervention, he survives well. Greg finally convinces Jack not to have an affair with Andi. The last scene shows the whole family at Christmas when both parents declare that they want to move into the neighborhood, much to Greg's horror.

In the end credits, Jack watches a video of Greg on YouTube .

Reviews

“As in the two previous films, the interplay between two-time Oscar winner Robert De Niro and joke specialist Ben Stiller causes the most laughter in the third part. [...] It doesn't really matter that Paul Weitz peppered his family farce with the usual predictable story turns and that we already know a lot of gag variants from earlier films. Conclusion: Light family food that makes nothing new out of the tried and tested, but makes a lot of fun. "

"[...]" My wife, our children and I "once again offers the tried and tested ingredients: likeable characters, stars who love to play and some hilarious moments. After a rather weak start, the level of the predecessor can be maintained over long stretches. "

“Interspersed with hearty body comedy, the film relies on dialog wit and a satirical grounding that itself carries absurd developments. The playful star ensemble ensures that the comedy, which, given its subversive, cheeky tone, is not a harmless family entertainment, largely works. "
