Remi Adefarasin

Remi Adefarasin (born February 2, 1948 in London , England ) is a British cameraman .

Life

Remi Adefarasin was born in London to an African father and an English mother. His maternal grandmother taught him photography, so he could apply to study photography and film at Harrow Art School . He was one of the few to a job as an assistant to the legendary Ealing Studios the BBC got. After working as a camera assistant for the first time in the television series The Borderers in 1968 , it was the 1980 television series The British Greats in which he independently directed the camera in five episodes. From the end of the 1980s, Adefarasin increasingly worked as a cameraman for feature films and films, such as How crazy and from the bottom of my heart , The Buccaneers and Silent Screams . His camerawork on Elizabeth was the greatest success of his career so far, not only receiving a British Academy Film Award for Best Cinematography , but also an Oscar nomination for Best Cinematography .
