Theresa Elizabeth "Teri" Polo (born June 1, 1969 in Dover , Delaware ) is an American actress .

life and career

At 16, Polo left high school to devote herself to her acting career. First she appeared in commercials for jeans.

She became famous alongside Ben Stiller in the comedy Meet the Parents . While the sequel My Wife, Her In-Laws and I was shown in the cinemas, she was also photographed for Playboy (February 2005). In addition to this foray into mainstream cinema, she can usually be seen in TV productions. From 2005 to 2006, she had one of the leading roles in the sixth and seventh season of the political series The West Wing as the wife of the Democratic presidential candidate played by Jimmy Smits . Since June 2013 she has played the leading role as Stef Foster in the ABC Family television series The Fosters .

Polo was married to the photographer Anthony Moore from 1997 until the divorce in 2003 and has a son with him (* 2002). A year later, on the set of a video, she met drummer Jamie Wollam and has lived with him ever since. The two have a daughter (* 2007).
