Shortly afterwards he met the overweight Rosemary Shanahan. She is puzzled, then annoyed when Hal compliments her on her looks, but the two eventually fall in love.

Larson meets Rosemary's father, Steve Shanahan, at whose company he works. Steve is enthusiastic about some of Larson's ideas and makes him a personal assistant. However, he thinks that Larson is only with his daughter because of the career, which outrags him. The opinion of Larson's office colleagues is similar.

Hal's best friend, Mauricio Wilson, worries that it tastes bad in his eyes and asks Robbins to end the hypnosis. This reveals to Wilson the redeeming key word that Wilson passes on to his friend. Larson then sees women differently than before. Since he loves Rosemary, he wants to be hypnotized again. Until then, he avoids meeting Rosemary so that he doesn't remember her real appearance.

Robbins is out of reach, however, while Rosemary wants to fly to the South Seas, where she will work for the Peace Corps for a longer period of time .
