Jason Alexander
Jason Alexander , actually Jay Scott Greenspan , (born September 23, 1959 in Newark , New Jersey ) is an American actor , film director and producer . He was best known for his participation in the hit sitcom Seinfeld , which ran from 1989 to 1998 on NBC.
Life and work
Alexander graduated in 1977 in Livingston , the Livingston High School . Already there he appeared in amateur theater. He later studied at times at Boston University .
Alexander starred in the films: Mosquito Coast (1986) alongside Harrison Ford and River Phoenix ; in the film Pretty Woman (1990) alongside Julia Roberts and Richard Gere ; in the film Breakfast at Her (1990) with Susan Sarandon and James Spader ; in the film The Coneheads (1993) alongside Dan Aykroyd . In the film North (1994) he played one of the leading roles alongside Elijah Wood and Julia Louis-Dreyfus . He also played one of the lead roles in The Adventures of Rocky & Bullwinkle , for which he was nominated for the Saturn Award .
Alexander has been on some TV series like Ouch! ( E / R , 1984–1985), Hell's favorites ( Favorite Son , 1988), Seinfeld (1989–1998) and Listen Up (2004–2005). For his role as the neurotic George Costanza , one of the main characters in the television series Seinfeld , he was nominated several times for the Golden Globe Award (1993-1995 and 1998) and Emmy (1992-1998).
Alexander appeared in numerous plays . It was in 1989 for the lead role in Broadway with the Tony Award excellent. In 2007 he played the lead role of Max Bialystock in Mel Brooks' stage musical The Producers at a Los Angeles theater .
He is known from numerous commercials in the United States, including for McDonald’s and DaimlerChrysler .
Alexander directed the film My Partner with the Hot Bride (1996), in which he played one of the leading roles alongside James Woods . He has also worked as a producer of several films and as a screenwriter .
In 1999 he played the antagonist Kurros in the episode The Think Tank from Star Trek: Spaceship Voyager . Alexander had another guest appearance in 2005 in the crime series Monk as private detective Marty Eels in the episode Mr. Monk Gets Competition .
At the end of May 2012, Alexander came under fire when he described cricket as a "gay sport" on a US talk show . A little later he apologized for this statement.
Alexander has been married to actress Daena E. Title since 1981 and has two sons.
