Stage work
A stage work , also called a stage play or play , is a poem that is performed on the stage . As a drama , it differs from the epic (or in more modern times from the novel ) and from poetry . It also differs from less text-based performances such as impromptu comedy , for which at most scenarios must be fixed in writing, or more modern forms such as invisible theater or performance (art) .
The stage works include drama ( tragedy , comedy , melodrama , farce ), musical theater ( opera , operetta , musical ) and ballet or dance theater .
The creators of stage works are the stage authors for the literary basis, possibly also the dramaturges as well as the composers and the librettists for the music theater. In the last few decades directors and choreographers have increasingly become authors.
At the staging a variety of contributors involved of stage works that no copyrights on stage work, but performance rights can claim: director, choreographer, actor , singer , dancer , musician , set designer , costume designer , makeup artist , prop master , stage manager , sound engineer , lighting designer and other.
