Henry Hackett is an ambitious reporter for a New York newspaper. His pregnant wife Martha used to be a journalist as well.
Paul Bladden offers Hackett a job in a respected newspaper. Hackett overlooks information about a murder published by a competitor newspaper. As his publisher Alicia Clark exerts pressure, Hackett does extensive research and helps resolve the case.
