David Koepp

David Koepp (born June 9, 1963 in Pewaukee , Wisconsin ) is an American screenwriter , producer , director and writer . His best-known works include scripts for blockbusters such as Jurassic Park , Mission: Impossible , Spider-Man and War of the Worlds .

biography

David Koepp (pronounced Kepp ) grew up in his hometown of Pewaukee and attended Catholic elementary school in St. Anthony's on the Lake. His mother is a family therapist and his father is the owner of a billboard production company . He is married to Rosario Varela, with whom he has two children.

Koepp attended and graduated from Kettle Moraine High School in Wales, Wisconsin , and worked evenings and weekends at McDonald's in Delafield. He received his bachelor's degree in film from the School of Theater, Film and Television at the University of California, Los Angeles .

Koepp worked early and quite often with Hollywood greats such as Robert Zemeckis , Ron Howard , Steven Spielberg (four times), Brian De Palma (three times). He is also the creator of the CBS drama series Hack, starring David Morse . With his fee for Panic Room (4 million US dollars) Koepp is one of the best-paid screenwriters of all.

On September 16, 2019, his first book Cold Storage - It kills was published in German.
