Echoes - Stir of Echoes is a 1999 horror film from the United States starring Kevin Bacon . The screenplay was written based on the novel A Stir of Echoes by Richard Matheson .

It should be merely a harmless fun than Tom Witzky of his sister Lisa hypnotized can. But from this point on, nothing is the same as it used to be: Tom is plagued by brutal, terrible visions that initially make no sense to him: a broken fingernail, the shadowy face of a young woman, the suicide of a neighbor boy.
The more often the terrible pictures haunt him, the more the line between madness and reality blurs . But when the ghost of a girl appears at his home, he realizes the meaning of the voices from the intermediate world: only when he finds her buried corpse will the girl's soul be able to go to rest. But the girl's murderers, whom Tom is getting closer and closer to in his obsessive, psychic investigations, also pose a threat to his life. Because he finds out that his landlord and a friend of his walled up the girl in the basement of the house he was renting after her sons tried to rape the girl and she died because of their resistance.
