from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The International Horror Guild Award was an international literary prize that was awarded from 1995 to 2008 for outstanding works in the field of horror literature. The prizes were awarded annually by a jury, which also considered proposals sent to it. The award ceremonies took place at the World Horror Convention and a few times as part of Dragon * Con and most recently at the World Fantasy Convention . The prizewinners were mainly authors and artists from the Anglo-Saxon language area. The trophy was originally a statuette of a dog-like winged creature ( gargoyle ), from 2002 a plate reminiscent of a gravestone with a gargoyle image.
