David Pringle

David William Pringle (born March 1, 1950 in Selkirk , Scotland ) is a Scottish editor, specialist author and lexicographer in the field of science fiction (SF) and fantasy literature.

Life

Pringle was a research fellow at the London Science Fiction Foundation from 1978 to 1979 and edited the Foundation's journal from 1980 to 1986 . He was one of the eight founders of the SF magazine Interzone and became its sole editor in 1988. Along with John Clute and others, he was also editor of Interzone - anthologies . He has received numerous awards for his work at Interzone , including the Hugo Award and the British Fantasy Award .

From 1989 to 1990 Pringle worked for the British game manufacturer Games Workshop and during this time published accompanying literature and tie-ins for their games, including four anthologies on the games Warhammer and Warhammer 40,000 , as well as an anthology on the science-fantasy board game Dark Future .

In 1991, Pringle was brief editor of Aboriginal Science Fiction and founded Million: The Magazine about Popular Fiction , a magazine that also featured SF and Fantasy, but which was discontinued in 1993.

In addition to his work as an editor, Pringle published several books on the work of JG Ballard , including a bibliography. In addition, several specialist encyclopedias and reference works have been published, a volume with short essays on the 100 best English-language science fiction novels and two books on the technique of writing horror and fantasy literature.
