Chelsea Quinn Yarbro (2009)

Chelsea Quinn Yarbro (born September 15, 1942 in Berkeley , California ) is an American writer of Finnish-Italian descent, best known as the author of historical horror novels , fantasy and science fiction .

Life

She studied at San Francisco State University until 1963 and was able to bring her first play ( The Crook-Backed King ) to the stage in 1964 . After her first printed story in 1969, she wrote more than 70 novels and numerous short stories , some under the stage names Terry Nelson Bonner, Quinn Fawcett, TCF Hopkins or Trystam Kith.

Yarbro has been writing fantasy , historical novels , horror , youth literature , science fiction and westerns since 1969 . Best known is her historical horror series about the Vampire Count Saint Germain (from 1978), which is based on the historical Count of Saint Germain . From 1988 to 1990 she was president of the Horror Writers of America , now the Horror Writers Association (HWA).

In addition to writing, Yarbro worked as a cartographer , laid tarot cards, was a palm reader and composes music. She studied music theory and has mastered seven instruments.
