from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Ronald M. Hahn (born December 20, 1948 in Wuppertal ) is a German writer , translator and author of non -fiction and science fiction stories. A number of the works he wrote together with Hans Joachim Alpers appeared under the common pseudonym Daniel Herbst .

Life

Even in his childhood, Ronald M. Hahn was interested in fantastic literature. First he did an apprenticeship as a typesetter . From 1972 to 1974 he published the science fiction series Fischer Orbit ( S. Fischer Verlag , Frankfurt / Main); from 1982 to 1988 he worked in the same position for Ullstein Verlag (Berlin). From 1983 until the end of the year in 2000 Hahn acted as editor of the SF anthology series of the German magazine The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction at Heyne Verlag . After he had put together the 102nd edition Heroes of the Third Millennium , which was planned for 2001 (but then no longer appeared) , the German MF&SF was discontinued in connection with the sale of Heynes to Springer and Random House . A year later he founded the science fiction magazine Nova with Michael K. Iwoleit in 2002 , which he co-edited until 2011.

Hahn has been freelance since 1977 and worked as a literary agent, translator (of now more than 150 novels and non-fiction books), magazine editor, editor for book publishers such as Heyne, Eichborn and Fantasy Productions, journalist and author of novels and short stories in the fields of science fiction and crime and adventure. He also published many non-fiction books. Some of his often humorous and satirical works have also appeared abroad (Poland, Czechoslovakia, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Hungary, Brazil, the Netherlands, France, Italy, USA and USSR). Ronald M. Hahn is the regular author of the magazine series Maddrax , which has been published every two weeks since 2000 , for which he contributed 42 novels up to the end of 2013.

In 2018 Hahn was one of the first to sign the " Joint Declaration 2018 " initiated by Vera Lengsfeld .

Ronald M. Hahn lives in Wuppertal.
