Horst Pukallus

Horst Dieter Pukallus (born April 14, 1949 in Düsseldorf ; pseudonyms : Henry Robert , Henry Roland ) is a German writer and translator .

Life

Horst Pukallus is the son of a worker in the steel industry . From 1963 to 1965 he completed an apprenticeship as an insurance salesman . He worked in this profession for 10 years and also attended an evening secondary school and various language courses . Since the late 1960s, he has published reviews of SF literature, most notably in Science Fiction Times . His first short story, Interludium , appeared in 1974 . He has been a freelance writer , editor and translator since 1975 . Pukallus lived for a long time in Hilden near Düsseldorf, today in Wuppertal .

Horst Pukallus is active as a writer of novels and short stories (including in the series Die Terranauten ) as well as a critic and editor mainly in the field of science fiction . He is also a very prolific translator of science fiction and fantasy novels from English .

Horst Pukallus is a member of the Association of German Writers . In 1980, 1981, 1984, 1985 and 2001 he received the Kurd-Laßwitz Prize for the best translation, and in 1991 for the best story ( Das Blei der Zeit ).
