Sheri S. Tepper
Sheri Stewart Tepper (born July 16, 1929 near Littleton (Colorado) , † October 22, 2016 in Santa Fe , New Mexico ) was an American writer of science fiction, fantasy, horror and mystery Novels.
Life
Sheri S. Tepper was born Shirley Stewart Douglas on July 16, 1929 near Littleton, Colorado. She first married at the age of 20; this marriage was divorced in 1955/1956, making her the single mother of her two children. For years she managed to get by with a wide variety of jobs, including working for the international aid organization CARE . She only settled down with her work for Rocky Mountain Planned Parenthood , a family planning and birth control clinic in Denver , where she was employed from 1962 to 1986. In the late sixties she married Gene Tepper. Among other things, she ran a guest ranch in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She died on October 22, 2016.

She has also published her works under the pseudonyms "Sheri S. Eberhart", "EE Horlak", "AJ Orde" and "BJ Oliphant". However, she had the greatest success as "Sheri S. Tepper". Her science fiction and fantasy novels have been nominated 20 times for the Locus Award . Her fantasy novel Beauty ( Die Schöne ) won the Locus Award.
In November 2015 she was awarded the World Fantasy Award for her life's work.
