Birgit Reß-Bohusch

Birgit Reß-Bohusch (born on May 26, 1942 in Mährisch-Ostrau , Protectorate of Bohemia and Moravia ) is a German translator and editor.

She is the translator of around 300 books. The focus is on science fiction , fantasy and popular science books , mainly translations from English into German. She began to translate from the mid-1960s, initially for Moewig-Verlag , then also for Heyne Verlag . In the field of science fiction, she translated several novels each by Robert A. Heinlein , Frank Herbert , Ursula K. Le Guin and Anne McCaffrey . She was the editor of the first 14 volumes of the anthology series Isaac Asimovs Science Fiction Magazin published by Heyne Verlag . She also translated over a dozen titles from various series of Time-Life books ( Planet Earth , Journey through the Universe , Lost Cultures , Myths of Humanity, and others). Reß-Bohusch lives in Fürstenfeldbruck near Munich .
