Werner Schuder

Werner Schuder (born February 25, 1917 in Berlin ; † October 20, 2006 ) was a German publisher .

Life

Schuder completed training in the book trade and library . After completing his studies, he first worked as a librarian in the university library and became a lecturer at the library school of the State Library in Berlin. On April 15, 1954, he joined the Walter de Gruyter publishing house , where he was responsible for the areas of mathematics, economics and social sciences. Among other things, he was in charge of the Göschen Collection and taught as a part-time lecturer at the Free University of Berlin and at the Berlin University of the Arts for librarianship and information science . He also worked until May 31, 1986 as editor, publishing director and publisher for the publishing house. He is known, among other things, for the publication of the works of Kürschner Scholars - and Kürschner's literary calendar . Schuder was a member of the Theodor Fontane Society and in the Berlin Bibliophile Evening .
