Illeana Douglas
Illeana Douglas (* 25. July 1965 in Quincy , Massachusetts , as Illeana Hesselberg ) is an American actress .
biography
Illeana Douglas, granddaughter of actor Melvyn Douglas , studied acting at New York's Neighborhood Playhouse . She made her debut in a supporting role in the comedy Hello Again in 1987.
Douglas was nominated for the Saturn Award and the Chlotrudis Award in 1996 for her role in the comedy To Die For , in which she played opposite Nicole Kidman . She won the Golden Satellite Award in 2000 for her role in the television series Action . That same year she received a Blockbuster Entertainment Award nomination for the role in the drama Message in a Bottle , in which she starred alongside Kevin Costner . She was nominated for an Emmy Award in 2002 for her appearance in the television series Six Feet Under .
From 1989 to 1997 Douglas was in a relationship with the director Martin Scorsese , who she in several of his films such as B. Cape of Fear occupied. After the separation, she married the film producer Jonathan Axelrod in 1998 . The marriage ended in divorce in 2001.
