Liza Rebecca Weil (born June 5, 1977 in Passaic , New Jersey ) is an American actress .

biography

Weil grew up in a reform Jewish family . Since her parents both had their own theater company and took their daughter Liza with them on her tours through Europe, she came into contact with her future profession very early on. From 1989, the parents began to let their daughter participate in various auditions. In this way she got her first roles in regional theater productions .

She later studied film at Columbia University . In 1998 she got her first leading role in the drama Whatever . Supporting roles in various other films followed. In 1999, she moved to Los Angeles and had guest roles in a number of well-known series (such as Emergency Room ).

She became known for her role as Paris Geller in the Gilmore Girls series , which she played from 2001. The role of Paris Geller was written especially for her after Alexis Bledel was cast for the role of Rory Gilmore , for which Weil had applied. In 2016, she also starred in the sequel Gilmore Girls: A New Year . Since 2014 she can be seen in the series How to Get Away with Murder . Her work includes more than 35 film and television productions.

Since November 2006 she was married to the American actor Paul Adelstein . Their daughter was born in April 2010. In early April 2016, the couple announced their separation.
