Harry Gregson-Williams (born December 13, 1961 in England ) is a British film composer , music producer and conductor .

Live and act

After studying music at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London , Gregson-Williams gave music lessons to needy children in Cairo and Alexandria . Gregson-Williams then moved to London, where he met Stanley Myers . With him he worked as an orchestra conductor and arranger for various films. At Remote Control Productions (formerly Media Ventures ) he worked with his brother Rupert , Hans Zimmer , and numerous other composers. He now works as a freelance composer and is a regular composer for directors such as Tony Scott , Joel Schumacher , Ben Affleck and Andrew Adamson .

His best-known settings include the soundtracks of Antz , Chicken Run , Shrek - The daredevil hero (together with John Powell ), Shrek 2 - The daredevil hero returns , Spy Game - The final countdown , Kingdom of Heaven , X-Men Origins: Wolverine and The Chronicles of Narnia: The King of Narnia . For the latter, Gregson-Williams was nominated for the Golden Globe Award in 2005.

He also composed large parts of the music for the two PlayStation 2 games Metal Gear Solid 2 and 3 . Harry Gregson-Williams worked with composer Stephen Barton on the soundtrack for the first-person shooter Call of Duty 4 . He also composed the soundtrack for the PlayStation 3 game Metal Gear Solid 4 with the Japanese Nobuko Toda .
