A Lion in Las Vegas is an American family computer animated series published by NBC . It first aired in the United States on August 31, 2004.

The main character of the series is the white lion Larry, star of the show by the two magicians Siegfried and Roy . Away from the show business, Larry lives with his family in the Secret Garden of the two illusionists. The family includes not only his wife Kate, but also their daughter Sierra, who repeatedly struggles with the problems of adolescents, and their son Hunter. In addition, Sarmoti, Larry's father-in-law, former show star and Larry's predecessor, also lives in the common house. This lets Larry feel again and again how little he thinks of him as a son-in-law and as a successor in the magic show. Larry's best friend is the gophers snack. In the course of the series, the family has to deal with everyday problems again and again.

The series was produced by Jeffrey Katzenberg and his company DreamWorks Animation . The production time was 9 months. The cost per episode was $ 1.6 million.
Although it was advertised extensively, the ratings dropped rapidly in the course of the first episodes, despite the well-known cast in the dubbing. A second season was therefore no longer produced. Of 14 episodes produced, only 13 were broadcast, the last episode was not even completed and is only a draft on the DVD.
In Germany, the series was broadcast synchronized from November 2007 on ProSieben .
