Cheryl Hines (born September 21, 1965 in Miami Beach , Florida ) is an American actress and director .

Cheryl Hines was born on September 21, 1965 in Miami Beach to Rosemary Graham Harbolt. She grew up in Tallahassee and attended West Virginia University , Florida State University and most recently the University of Central Florida . In July 2006, she received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role as Cheryl David , opposite Larry David , in the television series Lass It, Larry! ( Curb Your Enthusiasm ). She was nominated for this role three years earlier. In 2009, Hines made her directorial debut with the comedy Serious Moonlight . From 2011 to 2014 she was in the series Suburgatory as neighbor Dallas .

Hines was married to manager Paul Young on December 30, 2002 and gave birth to their daughter on March 8, 2004. After eight years of marriage, they filed for divorce in 2010.

On August 2, 2014, she married Robert Francis Kennedy Jr. , with whom she has been in a relationship since 2011.
