Orlando Jones (born April 10, 1968 in Mobile , Alabama ) is an American actor and comedian .

Life

Orlando Jones was born in Mobile, Alabama. He attended high school in Mauldin , South Carolina , and graduated in 1986. He then went to the College of Charleston , which he left in 1990 without a degree. Jones is vegan and has been married to model Jacqueline Staph since 2008.

Career

He got his first role in an episode as a cop in the US sitcom Four Times Herman in 1992 . In the same year he was seen in two episodes of the comedy series College Fever , before his breakthrough on MADtv in 1995 . In this television series, he parodied several characters in 41 episodes from 1995 to 1997, including Snoop Doggy Dogg , Samuel L. Jackson , Dennis Rodman , Ike Turner , OJ Simpson , Ice Cube , Eddie Murphy , Bill Cosby and Michael Winslow among the most famous.

In 1999 he was given a supporting role in the Paul Thomas Anderson film Magnolia , starring Jones with Tom Cruise , William H. Macy and Julianne Moore . In the same year he impersonated a drug dealer in the drama Liberty Heights by Barry Levinson , with Adrien Brody and Ben Foster in the lead roles.

In 2000, Jones appeared in three films. In the comedy film Chain of Fools , he appeared in a double role alongside Steve Zahn , Salma Hayek and Elijah Wood . This was topped in Hellish with Brendan Fraser and Elizabeth Hurley in the lead roles, where he played a total of seven roles. In Heroes from the Second Row , Jones played an amateur football player whose squad put the pros on strike and was successfully coached by Gene Hackman and Keanu Reeves .

He had a supporting role in the comedy Without Words , with Chris Klein and Heather Graham . In The Double Number , a remake of The Bridge of Retribution , Jones played in the same year an investment banker who blows up a front company.

As the hologram Vox 114 in The Time Machine , he received a time traveler in the New York Public Library in 2002 . In the action film Biker Boyz , Jones played the lawyer for the Black Knights, who are led by Smoke, the self-proclaimed "King of California" ( Laurence Fishburne ). He received a small role in the 2003 Grisham film The Judgment by Gary Fleder , with John Cusack , Dustin Hoffman and Gene Hackman in the lead roles.

In 2007, Jones played a cameraman in the horror film The Track of Horror . He had a cameo in the comedy film I think I love my wife by and with Chris Rock . Also in 2007 Jones had a guest appearance on the fantasy-mystery television series Ghost Whisperer - Voices from Beyond (episode The Clairvoyant / Unhappy Medium ). In the US sitcom Rules of Engagement in 2009, Jones played the character Brad in four episodes .

In the flopped fantasy film Midnight Circus - Welcome to the World of Vampires by Paul Weitz , Jones had a supporting role in 2009 and was seen alongside John C. Reilly (as a vampire). At the side of Michael Douglas and Jesse Metcalfe , he appeared in the same year in the thriller Against Each Doubt as a supporting actor. In episode 13 of the sixth season of Dr. House played Jones the brother of Dr. Eric Foreman ( Omar Epps ). In 2011 he appeared as Lawrence Kingman in an episode of CSI: Miami in front of the camera.
