action

Ichabod Crane was killed while on a mission for General George Washington in 1781 and awoke in 2013. Unaware of the past, Crane wandered disoriented until he was arrested by the police as a suspect in a murder case. Only when he made the acquaintance of the policewoman Abbie Mills, whose mentor and friend Sheriff August Corbin was killed by a headless horseman, did Crane suspect that the town of Sleepy Hollow was still the scene of supernatural clashes between good and evil, as it was in the days of the American Revolutionary War . Crane and Mills, who encounter disbelief with their report of the headless rider, embark on the fight against evil, because Crane's knowledge of US history and Mills skills complement each other perfectly.

Crane quickly realizes that the headless rider, whom he personally beheaded before his death, is also in the present Sleepy Hollow. Crane and the rider, who turns out to be one of the four apocalyptic riders , have been linked by a curse since then. Crane keeps having visions of his late wife Katrina and has to face the connection to the powerful and secret Freemasons . But Abbie also suffers from visions and so step by step the two get closer to the puzzle of Sleepy Hollow.
