John Noble (actor)
John Noble (born August 20, 1948 in Port Pirie , South Australia ) is an Australian actor , theater director and voice actor .
Life
Noble was Artistic Director of the Stage Company of South Australia from 1977 to 1987 and Director of the Acting Department at Brent St. School of Arts in Sydney from 1997 to 2000 . It wasn't until he was forty that he became an actor himself. Noble gained international fame through his participation in the film trilogy The Lord of the Rings , in which he played the role of the insane truchess Denethor .
In 2007 Noble was seen in three episodes of the real-time series 24 in the role of the scheming Russian consul . From 2008 to 2013 he played the eccentric scientist Walter Bishop in the television series Fringe - Borderline cases of the FBI . After a three-part supporting role as Henry Parrish in the first season of Sleepy Hollow , he was promoted to lead actor for the second season.
Noble is also active as a spokesperson for the production of computer games, for example in Saboteur (2009) and LA Noire (2011), in which he not only took over the synchronization, but was also inserted into the game via motion capture. In the science fiction series Transformers: Prime , he also lends his voice to the character Unicron .
Noble is married and has three children. His daughter Samantha Noble is also active as an actress like her father. The family now lives in the United States . According to a report from 2011, Noble's hobbies are music and painting in addition to acting .
