Salvation is an American television series. It was broadcast by the broadcaster CBS from July 12, 2017, and was extended in October 2017 for a second, again 13 episodes, season, which was broadcast in the summer of 2018.
The series has been available on Netflix in Germany since September 30, 2018 . In November 2018, CBS discontinued the series after two seasons.

The series focuses on the ramifications of the discovery of an asteroid that will critically hit Earth in just six months and wipe out humanity, and attempts to prevent that impact . As is to be expected, there are people and groups who pursue their own interests and undermine the aspirations of the main actors. The series ends with a cliffhanger after two seasons after it has been determined that the asteroid is not an asteroid because it exhibits a movement behavior that does not fit an asteroid without ultimately explaining what it actually is and what effect this ultimately has on the Earth has.

Production background
The series had originally been in development at the broadcaster CBS since the summer of 2013, but at that time it received neither a series order nor a pilot production.
