Santiago Cabrera (born May 5, 1978 in Caracas , Venezuela ) is a Chilean film actor .

Life

Cabrera, born the son of a Chilean diplomat , did not initially want to be an actor, but a professional footballer . He had already secured a scholarship before he changed his mind and made his debut in an episode of the television series Spooks in 2003 .

Due to his father's profession, Cabrera traveled a lot in his childhood and lived in London , Romania and Madrid . Cabrera describes Santiago de Chile as his true home .

In the German-speaking world, Cabrera became known for his leading role in the miniseries Empire . In the first season of NBC - TV series Heroes , he played the painter Isaac Mendez .

Santiago Cabrera starred in 2006's Love and Other Disasters with Brittany Murphy and starred in Haven with Orlando Bloom .

In 2008 he played the supporting role of Lancelot in the television series Merlin - The New Adventure ; In 2009 he took on the role of Camilo Cienfuegos in Steven Soderbergh's Che: Part One .
