Dan Vasser is a newspaper reporter whose life is finally on the right track after losing his girlfriend and gambling addiction . Suddenly, however, he travels through time and ends up in 1987. There he saves a man's life and then accompanies him through various stages in his life. Meanwhile, his wife Katie Vasser and brother Jack Vasser think he's crazy. He can finally convince his wife, but his brother remains suspicious. Again and again Dan has to travel through time and finally meets his lost love Olivia "Livia" Beale, who, like him, is a time jumper. Together they must influence the lives of individuals in the past. Dan's private and professional life suffers from this constant change. In addition, Jack is becoming more and more suspicious. When he discovers the secret, he helps his brother as best he can. Dan learns from the mysterious scientist Professor Langley that he is the last of a line of time jumpers and that he must keep his gift a secret.
