Reed Edward Diamond (born July 20, 1967 in New York City , New York ) is an American actor .

biography

Reed Diamond grew up in New York City, the son of astrologer Allison and theater director Bob Diamond. He graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in the 1980s . At first he wanted to work for the police, but then attended the renowned Juilliard School, where he learned the art of acting. After that he played at the Broadway theater for some time .

At the beginning of his acting career, he had supporting roles in films such as Memphis Belle and The Cartel . From 1995 to 1998 he played a leading role in the crime series Homicide as Detective Mike Kellerman. He acted in a total of six seasons of the series and in 2000 also in the movie of the same name. In 2002 he appeared in three episodes of the crime series The Shield . In the series For All Cases Amy he had a supporting role as the partner of judge Amy Gray from 2002 to 2003.

He also had guest appearances in various US series and films such as Spider-Man 2 and SWAT - The Special Unit , until he got one of the leading roles in the television series Journeyman - The Time Jumper in 2007 . After the series was discontinued after only one season, he moved to the Dollhouse ensemble in 2009 , where he played a permanent supporting role as Laurence Dominic. From 2011 to 2014 Diamond played the lead role of Damien Karp in the four seasons of the Franklin & Bash series . In the Shakespeare adaptation Much Ado About Nothing by Joss Whedon , he played Don Pedro. In 2014 he was seen again in a Whedon production, in the second season of the series Marvel's Agents of SHIELD he appeared as the agent's opponent, Daniel Whitehall.

He has been married to actress Marnie McPhail since 2004 .
